There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.
Due to the fact that London is the capital of the UK, it means that a lot of random pop up events happen to celebrate a brand, an event or even a film. One of the hotspots for this is the area near Tower Bridge. I have seen many promotional things over the years and this is one of them.
This was one of the summers in London, I think it was 2018 or 2019 and it was a hot day in the capital. What goes hand in hand with summer in Britain? Pimm’s and they decided to do a promotion stand to celebrate it.
I like this photograph as it feels really British – a teapot selling Pimms with the Tower of London behind – what more do you want?
The brightness of the teapot brings a boldness to this photograph. It also brings a sense of depth to the image as well as it makes the Tower Bridge look at an unusual angle.
It weirdly creates a claustrophobic look to the image as well as it is all very crowded and very effective.
