Tell Us about:
Your latest single you have released:
Burned Alive just released and ‘The Hardest Part of Reverie’
Your favourite lyric in this song:
In ‘Burned Alive’, the line “lips over mine’ feels very personal and I think when people hear it, they’ll relate. In ‘The Hardest Part of Reverie’ I connect with the line, “we did our best to wish it all away’ …. I lived that line.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
‘The Hardest Part of Reverie’ is my new favorite. Very upbeat, almost ‘Coldplay’ feel to it.
Your favourite song to play live:
My first single ‘Vanish’ is always great and fans love that one.
The song that was the longest to write and why?
‘L.A. Sober’ was one that I kept revamping. It’s a good tempo and cool melody, but the content is darker. Writing about the political hypocrisy of Los Angeles, the power & greed in its veins. How money and control dictate the outcomes. I had to keep telling that story and it took a bit, but I think we nailed it.
Your most emotional track:
Burned Alive’ is very intimate and personal. Based on an evening with my wife. There was a tension in the
room, the chemistry was very alive. The anticipation we created and were talking with our eyes felt electric. I tried to capture that evening and it feels emotionally accurate.
Dream collaboration:
Jay Buchanan from Rival Sons would be incredible. One of the best songwriters / vocalists of our time.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Thankful.
The hardest track to play live:
‘Can’t Stop’ is tricky.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Bible to keep me grounded.
Describe your fans in three words:
Perfectly always present.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
Purple Rain by Prince is phenomenal.
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
More releases, shows and a vinyl record release, so follow along and keep your eyes peeled.
