Sunday Book Club: Saved from the Waves: Animal Rescues of the RNLI

Every Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we are looking at a book about dangerous rescues at sea.

Saved from the Waves: Animal rescues of the RNLI (2023)

THE RNLI

Synopsis

Saved from the Waves is a heart-warming collection of first-hand accounts from RNLI volunteers of the myriad dangers they face during each mission to save beloved pets, wildlife and livestock.

This remarkable book shines a light on the bravery of the volunteers, and the necessity of these rescues – not only to save animals at risk of drowning, but to prevent people putting themselves in danger when trying to save a cherished furry friend.

Each mission requires courage, determination and an unrelenting commitment to helping those in danger. Each day brings a new challenge for the extraordinary volunteer crews who are the lifeblood of the RNLI.

Positive Points

This is a really great read, it is extraordinary to read about all the great things that the RNLI do not just for Humans but for animals as well. The great lengths that they go to making sure that any sort of specie is safe from the harsh realities of the sea.

Negative Points

There is one story in this book that is not really as good as the others as it is more about the humans then the actual animal. Compared to the other stories in the book you will find it disappointing and lowers the pace midway.

Overall Review

This book is a really interesting read and really opens up your eyes to just how much the RNLI do. It is a book I would recommend as whilst there are stories about the predictable cats and dogs there are also horses and walruses as well.
