Welcome to a feature where we sit down and talk to bands and artists about their latest albums to find out all about it. Today we speak to Col Gerrard about his self titled debut album.

Hello nice to meet you, tell us about yourself!

I’m a London based singer-songwriter

Tell us about the new album

I was lucky to come across the phenomenal producer Chris Potter can you help me bring this album to fruition which is a group of songs I’ve had with me for quite awhile… we’ve already recorded another 15 for the next album.

Favourite track in new album and why?

Sun & Sky… I love this track because I had a small core of something I wanted to do and it came to fruition completely in the Studio.

Tell us a bit about the recording process, was it fun to do?

Absolutely… Chris is a joy to work with. Chris is a joy to work with

What inspired the album name?

My mother and Father

Tell us the idea behind the album cover?

Not much to tell really…wanted to keep things as simple as possible

What one of your songs on the new album do you think will the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?

Sun and sky

Why should people listen to the album?

I’ve had quite a few reviews saying the album has a lot of 90s and noughties feel to it. I love a good Melody and something that we created from nothing…. not a huge fan of sampling.
