Commander – Kelly Roland Feat. David Guetta
Today we are looking at a single that was the second collaboration between DJ David Guetta and the musician Kelly Roland.
On the 27th May 2010, Kelly Roland and David Guetta released the single Commander. It was the first single to be released from Kelly’s third studio album Here I Am which was released in 2011. The track was also Kelly’s debut single to be released on her new record label Universal Motown.
The music video was created and directed by Japanese director Masashi Muto. It gained a lot praise for being the ‘sound of the summer of 2010’.
The single did reasonably well in the charts and went into the top ten in Belgium (2), Croatia (4), Poland (2), Slovakia (2) and US Hot Dance Songs (1). In the UK the song went to number 9 in the top 40 and number 2 in the UK dance chart. It also became certified gold in the UK selling over 411,000 units.
