The Love Of Music – INTERVIEW – Adam Sherman

All this month we are doing a special interview with bands to celebrate things they love. Today we are speaking to Adam Sherman about fantastic things.

What is an album that you love that you could listen to on repeat?

Car Wheels On a Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams – the songwriting and musicianship are flawless and Lucinda’s voice is a treasure.

Your favourite quote from a film?

“And it’s a beautiful day…” by Frances McDormand in Fargo – Peter Stormare is in the backseat of the cruiser after feeding Steve Buscemi through the wood chipper. Priceless.

What instrument that you own is your favourite and why?

My 1964 Gibson Southern Jumbo acoustic guitar. I love her tone and she feels so right in my hands. I had a Fishman pickup installed for live performance. This guitar has personality.

What is something you love about touring / playing shows?

I love connecting with the audience. For me, sharing music is integral to the creative process.

What food is your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate chip ice cream.

What is a television show that is your comfort blanket that you turn to on a rainy day?

Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David always make me laugh.

A superpower that you would love to have?

At the moment, I’d like to be able to make certain people vanish into thin air. Forever.

Who is a band / artist that you love and feel is highly underrated?

I love Gregg Allman’s vocals and feel he never got the recognition he deserved as a singer.

Describe your perfect day?

A walk in the woods. Breakfast with home fries. Then a songwriting session in which the song moves from being a nice idea to being a really excellent composition. Dinner with friends and then playing or listening to live music til bedtime. Perfect.
