For The Love Of Film – Day 19 – Crash

Everyday this month we are looking at different songs from different films that I love and feel that they deserve their time to shine in the limelight. They are all bits of music that I love and I wanted to talk about them more in depth so that maybe you the reader can have similar experiences and understand why I like them.

Song From Soundtrack: Crash – The Primitives
Film:  Dumb and Dumber
Year: 1994

Dumb and Dumber is a film that you would define as pure crazy comedy. Whilst I wouldn’t say it’s a favourite, it was a huge part of my childhood and the one thing that is great about it is the soundtrack. There are so many great songs to talk about but I chose this one as it is the song instantly relate to this film when it comes on.

There is another film this song appears on the soundtrack for and that is Mr Bean’s Holiday however that is sung by Matt Willis and was a lot later.

The song Crash by The Primitives works really well for Dumb and Dumber, it creates a really great energy and lightness, which would would want from a song from this soundtrack. It is a track that is jolly and when you hear it, you get it stuck in your head

i felt it was important to mention this track as comedies sometimes have some fantastic tracks that get overlooked.
