Taste Of States – This Week – Sonic Salted Caramel Croissant Bites

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

SONIC SALTED CARAMEL CROISSANT BITES

Today we are heading across the pond to a fast food chain to have a look at a product that was released only last year. It was also a cheap eat.

Sonic is a drive thru fast food chain that has over 3,400 locations across the United States. It was founded in 1953 and was founded by Troy Smith. It’s headquarters are in Oklahoma and these are restaurants across the whole country.

In Mid-2025 it was announced that they were releasing new items for the Autumn season. One of the products that they released was salted caramel croissant bites. A box of four pieces could be purchased for $1.99 as part of Sonic’s cheap menu.

The treat is bite sized pieces of croissant that are dusted in a caramel sugar blend. The reason why these were released was the company felt that there was too much pumpkin spice released in the Autumn time.

There is mixed reviews online with some praising the flavour and texture whilst others criticised them for being doughy and overpriced.
