Hello tell us all about yourself?

Hi folks, we are Monkey Intrusion a bunch of songwriting  obsessed independent rockers who live in Trieste, a city facing the sea of northeastern Italy. Enrico Goti and Vincenzo Reina on voice and guitar, Sara Cova on voice, Marco Plesnicar on bass and Marco Bertoli on drums. 

How was 2025 for you?

It’s been a year with ups and downs. Musically speaking we had good gigs and very good reviews and feedback of our album ‘Pussycats and Monkeymen’ we released in 2024. But we had an injury of one band member that slowed us down a bit’ what we wanted to do. Now everything is fine again and we are enjoying how our music is evolving. 

What was the top 3 highlights for you?

Well, the entry in the band of Sara Cova, our singer who had already collaborated on our album, the gigs especially at the Round Midnight Club in our city, really amazing,  and the Prosecco Drift music Festival that we organized with other bands from our region.

What was the key lesson you learnt from last year?

In five words: talk less and play more.

There is nothing more satisfying than creating music together in the rehearsal room,  playing it live and create that wonderful emotional bond with the audience. 

What are your plans for 2026?

We will continue to write new music to release an EP or an even a full Album. Let’s see.

What other shows are you looking forward to watching this year?

Foo Fighters, Mammoth of Wolfgang Van Halen and Litfiba one of the best Italian rock band.

What styles do you hope to see more of in music this year?

More courage to explore unconventional paths, real new music that shakes you and surprises you. 

Who is your band / musician that is your ones to watch in 2026 and why?

‘Katana Koala Kiwi’ an independent very interesting Italian band with a lot of soul and a great sound.

Do you have any new years resolutions? If so what are they?

Sure play as more as possible and release our new Album
