The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

Tunisia is a fascinating country, I only went there for one day as part of a Mediterranean cruise but from what I saw there I loved the areas that we ended up visiting. Today’s photo was taken in a place called Sidi Bou Said.

I really adore this photograph as it may be of a small area but it highlights a lot of great things about it. Firstly the colour blue – it is used a lot in this area and the door frame being painted this colour makes it incredibly striking and wonderful.

I adore the framing of this photograph – the way that the stairs create an angle to this image – it provides depth and leads you into the adventure and the journey this photo is taking you into.

I really adore the colours of this photograph, the white makes it bright and the blues, green and greys bring out the boldness in the photo.

This image makes me happy and always makes me remember the fun I had there.
