Taste Of States – This Week – The Bacon Bomber

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

THE BACON BOMBER

Today we are going to focus our attention on Buffalo New York to take a look at a product that was available at the Erie County Fair. Welcome to the world of the Bacon Bomber.

If you are a fan of bacon, then this is a product for you and you will be a fan of. The snack was created by Gary of Big G’s Food Stand.

You mix together butter, three to four scoops of peanut butter, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. You then you cook and then add finely chopped up bacon. You then mix all of this together in a bowl. When it is all combined you then make the dough into small balls. Each of them is then put on separate sticks and then frozen until they are solid. When they are frozen they are then dipped in batter which is made out of a pancake batter recipe. Then they are deep fried.

Once they are cooked they are then covered in chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar and of course more bacon.
