Ones To Watch 2026 – INTERVIEW – Stone Sea

All this month we are celebrating acts that you need to look out for in 2026. Today we speak to band Stone Sea about an intense year and exciting plans for 2026.

Hello, tell us all about yourself?

Hey! I’m Elvis Suhadolnik Bonesso, the founder of Stone Sea — we blend fat riffs, deep grooves, and traditional music influences. I was born in Brazil, lived almost a decade in Ireland, and now I’m based in Málaga, Spain. The band has evolved a lot through all these moves, but the spirit has always been the same: to make music that drifts between heaviness and harmony.

How was 2025 for you?

Pretty intense, but very rewarding. We released several singles from our upcoming album Ad Astra, as well as the single Animal, and played a bunch of shows around Andalusia. It’s been a year of growth while stepping into new territory.

What were the top 3 highlights for you?

  1. Meeting all the musicians who invested their time and effort in Stone Sea — I’ve been very lucky to cross paths with them.
  2. Moving the band across countries (that goes for Brazil to Ireland, and Ireland to Spain).
  3. Seeing people from different countries connect with our music — that’s always the best reward.

What was the key lesson you learnt from last year?

To embrace impermanence. Things change constantly — people, plans, places — and fighting that only drains your energy. When you flow with it, even challenges can lead to something beautiful.

What are your plans for 2026?

We’re planning to expand our shows beyond Spain — hopefully hitting more European cities and festivals. There’s also new music in the works, plus a live studio video session we’ve been wanting to release. Basically, keep the momentum going and keep evolving.

What other shows are you looking forward to watching this year?

I’m hoping to catch some stoner and psych rock bands that pass through Spain — maybe King Buffalo or Elder if they tour again. Also, any good local bands around Andalusia; there’s a lot of underground talent here.

What styles do you hope to see more of in music this year?

I’d love to see more genre-blending. Bands mixing heavy music with world elements or unconventional rhythms — that’s what keeps music exciting and alive.

Who is your band/musician to watch in 2026 and why?

For that exact reason of genre-blending, I’d say Plastic Woods — they’re from Spain, and their sound is this groovy mix of bluesy rock and psychedelia. Super talented musicians with great live energy. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? If so, what are they?

To be more present. I tend to juggle too many things at once — Stone Sea, two different sound design jobs, capoeira, and, well, I’ll become a dad soon — so slowing down and enjoying each moment is the goal.

Are you on social media? If so, how can people find out more about you?

Yes! Everything’s under @stoneseaband — Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Bandcamp, and Spotify. Or just check our link tree: linktr.ee/stonesea.

Three words why people should come and see you this year?

Heavy. Drifty. Honest.
