Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
SHIITAKE MUSHROOM CANDY CANES
It wouldn’t be Christmas time if we didn’t speak about an unusual candy cane flavour. Every year I try and welcome you to unique flavours available from the Seattle company Archee Mcphee. Well today we are going to look at a very interesting one.
In December of 2020, it was announced that Archee Mcphee were releasing a brand mew flavour of Candy Cane – Shiitake Mushroom. The new Christmas treat is meant to taste like the specific type of fungi.
Each candy cane is 13.3cm tall and coloured white and brown. They could be purchased online for $5.50 a box.
The reviews are not not great though a lot of people that have tried it have stated they are not very nice and taste manufactured.
