There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.
I have said it once, I will say it again, London is an incredibly fascinating place where you can take so many photographs of the same locations and then you will always get something completely different.
Shad Thames is such a fascinating place and so rich in history that there is always very exciting things to see, especially from a photography perspective. Tower Bridge can be taken in so many different angles that it can mean there is always something new to explore and it is never boring.
The thing that is the most striking about this photograph is the anchor – it is big, bold and really owns the image. The darkness of the anchor creates this real intriguing depth to the image – it creates a strong vibrance of the history of London and links to the history of the Thames as well.
The photo has very mutual colours that makes the whole photograph pop. It doesn’t work in all photos but it works really well in this one. It creates a sense of darkness to London which is a lot of fun.
