Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Stone Sea

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

“Age of Tears” — written in Ireland during a period of deep self-reflection. It’s about watching old dreams fade while reshaping hope into something new. Musically, it drifts from fragile acoustic dissonance into heavy, cathartic riffs — like an emotional storm.

Your favourite lyric in this song:

“Chase, don’t let it go / Warp before erodes. ”It depicts the need to change and reshape oneself to adapt before dying within.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

Composition-wise, I believe it to be “Dream Song.” I’ve always been fascinated by the mind and its different states. Dreams are so powerful — I think I managed to capture that sensation quite well, from drifting images and emotions to nightmares and visions of the deceased. It’s extra special because my mom sings on it, and my family members appear in the music video.

Your favourite song to play live:

Mystify. It’s got everything I love — groove, mood changes, melody, and a jazzy twist at the end. It always feels like a journey.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

I think“Dream Song”took me around six months to compose. I was very picky about how each section connected. As I reached a new part, my emotions had to tell me where to go for it to feel right. Sometimes that intuition just isn’t there yet — and you have to wait for it to come.

Your most emotional track:

“Flow Upstream” came as a whole one day. I remember feeling quite down and introspective in my room in Ireland, just playing that first chord. I was testing some presets on my guitar multi-effects pedal, and there was this strange one that added overtones layered over the notes I played. It felt like sunken thoughts trying to rise again — suppressed emotions, or almost like a bad trip. It felt right, so I let those emotions speak.

Dream collaboration:

Most of my heroes are already gone (laughs). But having Eloy Casagrande record a track with us would be an absolute dream.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

It’s like stepping into a trance. You’re aware of everything and nothing at the same time. As soon as that first note hits, the noise in your head just clears.

The hardest track to play live:

“Animal”is quite demanding on both vocals and guitar. There are some energy jumps in the song that are a bit tricky to nail perfectly.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

I’m a simple man. A notebook and a big bottle of water are enough to keep me going (laughs). And if I’m going far, I can’t forget books — I get bored quite easily.

Describe your fans in three words:

Open-minded. Passionate. Grounded.

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

Into the Void by Black Sabbath — best riff in the universe.

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

More singles from our upcoming album Ad Astra, and our next one, Left to Be, drops on December 12th with a release gig at Louie Louie in Estepona, Málaga. We’re also planning more shows around Spain and southern Europe, plus a live studio session coming soon.
