Taste Of States – This Week – Lobster Fries

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

LOBSTER FRIES

Today we are heading to another State Fair to take a look at a delicacy that has been a favourite to those who have tried it and also an exciting treat.

At the Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock, California, The Fry King is the home of the Lobster Fries. Let’s take a look at the making process first.

Local Californian lobster is used in this dish so it is not seasoned as it has a really interesting flavour. It is deep fried to get the taste enhanced. Whilst this is cooking, homemade fries are cooked for around five to six minutes.

A homemade Chipotle aioli is created with Mayonnaise, Chipotle peppers diced up, lemon, a splash of buttermilk and mild spice flavours.

The build of the dish goes fries on the base, then salt seasoning then the lobster mix then it is finished off with the Chipotle sauce and a garnish of parsley.

This has had great reviews with the public stating the lobster with the fries mixed together is a game changer.
