Boyband Month – Day 9 – One Direction: Best Song Ever

All this month we are celebrating the world of the Boyband and that means that every day of November we are delving into a different song by a different band! Let’s celebrate the boyband, there were many of them in the noughties and nineties when I was growing up so let’s relook at some of the great ones out there!

Track: Best Song Ever
Artist: One Direction
Original Release Date: 2013

When One Direction first came around I was not a fan of them, they felt very ‘manufactured pop’. It was only when I did a short stint of a job at Simon Cowell’s company SYCO that they grew on me – not by choice but the situation I was put in.

It was the week of the film premiere of the One Direction film. The SYCO offices felt to celebrate they would have the track Best Song Ever on repeat. All Day. None Stop. Initially I couldn’t stand this song but a few hours of having it on the track started to grow on me.

It is quite an uplifting song and has a really bold catchy chorus. If you have time look at the music video as well as it quite clever and pretty fun.

It is a pop song that captures elements of music that was popular at the time and the chorus and the development of the song shows you the way boybands were at this time.
