Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW- Take It Or Leave It

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

‘Run’ is our latest single and it kicks off our EP ‘Tunnel Vision’. Craig wanted to write a sequel to ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ by Duran Duran, so the song plays on animal instinct and predator-vs-prey energy. It’s fast, catchy, and felt like the perfect first punch to introduce the record.

Your favourite lyric in this song:

The opening line, “like a deer in headlights when you first face me,” helped inspire the title ‘Tunnel Vision’. It paints such a vivid image, and since it’s the first lyric you hear on the EP, it just made sense to let it set the tone for everything that follows.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

Lately we’ve been loving Cracked Ribs. It opens with dueling guitar riffs, has a catchy hook, and leans into a lot of our favorite punk tropes: riffs that come back in the chorus, call-and-response parts, and a big dramatic ending that feels like a curtain drop.

Your favourite song to play live:

‘Pints and Power Chords’ always takes the top spot. It’s got that pub-chant energy we wanted from the start, and by the end, the whole crowd is yelling the chorus back at us. That kind of moment is what makes live shows worth it.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

We’ve got a new track called ‘Therapy’ coming in early 2026 that’s been around since 2017. Mario wrote the original bass lick years ago but could never land on how to use it. Once he brought it into the band and started building around it, everything clicked. There’s a live version from Montclair Porchfest on our YouTube if you want a sneak peek.

Your most emotional track:

If we’re not counting ‘Therapy,’ then ‘Some Things Never Change’ takes that spot. It’s about the frustration of watching the world spiral while feeling powerless to stop it. The rise of fascism and the slow erosion of rights hit close to home, so it’s definitely one of the heavier ones for us emotionally.

Dream collaboration:

There are a ton of artists we’d love to collaborate with, but Green Day would be the ultimate. They paved the way for bands like us to exist, and sharing a track with them would feel like everything coming full circle.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

It’s a mix of nerves and adrenaline. No matter how many shows we play, those first few seconds before the lights hit never feel the same twice. But as soon as we hit the first chord, everything else disappears and it’s just us, the crowd, and the moment.

The hardest track to play live:

‘Run’ for sure. It’s got a wide vocal range and a breakdown that can fall apart fast if anyone drifts off-beat. But when we nail it, it’s one of those songs where we look at each other mid-set and know we just crushed it.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

We’ve all gotten hooked on Magic: The Gathering, so there’s no shot we’re hitting the road without our commander decks. Snacks and beer too, gotta keep the essentials covered.

Describe your fans in three words:

Dedicated. Rowdy. Passionate.

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

‘Hey Jealousy’ by Gin Blossoms. And if you somehow haven’t heard it, you can check out our completely 100% original version on ‘Tunnel Vision.’

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

We’re always building something, new music, new merch, new shows, or new streaming events. We never really slow down. Keep an eye on our socials, come hang at a show, and be part of whatever chaos we cook up next!
