Bedshaped – Keane

There was a time when you would turn on the radio or the television and you could not escape this song. It was huge and today we are going to revisit the song and the band.

On the 16th August 2004, the Indie band Keane released the single Bedshaped. It was the third track to be released off of the album Hopes and Fears. It was written by James Sanger, Richard Hughes, Thomas Chaplain and Timothy Rice-Oxley. It was produced by Andy Green and released under the record label of Island.

Initially, the song was released as a b-side to the single release of Everybody’s Changing and then it was decided to release it a single. It is a song with lyrics that delve into reuniting one day with an old friend or foe.

The single did well in the charts and went into the top 30 in Belgium (2), Denmark (7), Greece (22) and the Netherlands (7). In the United Kingdom it went into the charts at number 10 and sold over 200,000 unites meaning it turned platinum.
