The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – Holland Park, London, United Kingdom

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

Summer in London – it is unique, it is diverse and there is always a little bit of magic that you can highlight in a photo – today we are heading to Holland Park to take a look at an unique image of lavender.

Now, I know it’s only a flower but let me explain. It was a hot summers day in London – a perfect day to meet a friend and go for a catch up in the park. For this particular day we chose to meet and go for a stroll through Holland Park.

Th flowers were in full bloom and it was a wonderful place to go for a walk. There was so much lavender, which made it both look glorious and smell wonderful. I wanted to take a photograph to remember it.

I decided to use a specific effect on the photograph so that the glorious purple was highlighted in the flower. I love this photo, it is dramatic, wonderful and brings the lavender to life. It is something that when I look at it I can still remember the smell.
