Hello! Tell us about yourself?
Hi, I’m Amanda Houser the creator and performer of DeliaDelia! The Flat Chested Witch!
Tell us all about your show!
Inspired by the “witch hunt” on trans rights in the US, this show is an unhinged hour of clowning that also follows my dream of becoming the greatest basketball player in the human world.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
I’m really looking forward to seeing Francisco De Nata’s Giraffe with a G string! And Kate Owens!
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Yes, I did the fringe last year and my key piece of advice is to drink a lot of gruel. It’s very key to the experience.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
So my routine often includes my sleeping until 1pm and then I get a cappuccino and eat it with a bowl of curry and then I go back to sleep and then it’s show time!
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
For sure Nile Valley Café!
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
I love getting to see all your friends from around the world!
What is the hardest part about performing at the Fringe?
You feel like a garbage bag every day. It is pretty relentless.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
I bring a bowl of swamp water for washing up to look healthy.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Back to the gruel (obviously).
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
A jacket, masking tape, and a toothbrush.
What’s the secret to successful flyering?
Go in costume!
If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media?
You can find me @deliadelianyc
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
Pee by Laughter.
