Hello! Tell us about yourself?
I am an award-winning (and I can just about prove that!) character comedian who loves football and Troye Sivan (I’m bisexual).
Tell us all about your show!
My show is about a non-league football team that gets bought by a 6 year old Saudi billionaire. It’s a love-letter to football but sadly not to Troye Sivan (this year).
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
James Trickey, Alex Kitson, Kathy Maniura, Dan McKeown, James Trickey, Ada and Bron, Andrew Doherty, James Trickey, Rohan Sharma, Shalaka Kurup, Sam Williams, James Trickey, Sharon Wanjohi, Amelia Hamilton, Brainsluts, James Trickey, Jessie Nixon and James Trickey. Troye Sivan not doing the festival I’ve noticed.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Just go out there and enjoy yourself!
If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?
It is not my first time but I have wide eyed joy that makes it feel as though it’s the first time whenever I do anything. I am, however, extremely excited to get to have a pint of Madri (the Excepcional premium lager) at Bar50 in their official Madri (the Excepcional premium lager) enclosure.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
I get up when I want except on Wednesdays when I get rudely awakened by the dustmen (Parklife)
I put my trousers on, have a cup of tea and I think about leaving the house (parklife)
I feed the pigeons, I sometimes feed the sparrows too
It gives me a sense of enormous wellbeing (parklife) and then I’m happy for the rest of the day
Safe in the knowledge there will always be a bit of my heart devoted to it
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
There’s a really lovely little place called KFC on the corner of Nicholson Street, a really nice sort of fried chicken joint. I’d recommend getting the mighty bucket for one. Lots of awesome chicken.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
You are never more than 5 minutes away from a beer.
What is the hardest part about performing at the Fringe?
Those 5 minutes.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
When I was a kid my grandpa, who sadly passed away this year, got me a lucky charm which was a set of panpipes he picked up at a market in Peru. I lost them two years ago so I’ve brought a toy car.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Only hang out with comedians who are bad chat, that way you can’t be arsed to buy a second drink. If any other comics want my list lemme know
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
Detective Pikachu Blu Ray x3
what’s the secret to successful flyering?
Realising you’re the only replaceable person in the conversation, so you gotta earn them listening to you spout on about Mind the Gap: The Transport for London based Musical Sketch Show (Space Venues 2014).
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
Big IF but @tedmilliganisnice on instagram and @ted.milligan.bluesky which i barely use cos it does not have the juice.
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
Funny football show.
