Hello! Tell us about yourself?

Hello, my name is Ali Brice. At time of writing I am 38. Although in 27 days I will be 39. I am a largely happy-go-lucky man that lives in the moment. I also live with my girlfriend, Beth, and a border terrier called Hamish. I am very happy.

Tell us all about your show!

It’s a very silly, very heartfelt character comedy show. Eric Meat loves people and will talk to the audience. He’s very easily distracted and most of the time, the audience becomes the show. No two performances are the same. Ever.

This year Eric Meat has been on an enforced three month sabbatical and is super-excited about going back to work. He loves the offices and the friends he has made there. Perhaps a little too much. But does his job still exist? What happens if he needs to apply for a new job? What has changed? Who has left?

It’s a celebration of work. I think all too often work is only ever talked about as boring or a chore or an awful thing. But a lot of us spend most of time there – and actually have quite a nice time a lot of the time. So let’s focus on that for a change.

It’s also just a big excuse to do stupid things in a familiar setting.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Adam Larter is bringing his TAILS show back to the Fringe for the 10th year in a row. Always below the radar, but a must see.

Pat Cahill has an amazing show this year, as does Lucy Pearman. Sam Nicoresti, Andy Barr, Sooz Kempner are always great.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

This will be my 13th Fringe and 8th solo show. Have fun. That’s the best advice. We’re all so lucky to be there – performers and punters alike – let’s just have a nice time.

Also, get chips and curry sauce from Clam Shell om the Royal Mail. Best curry sauce ever.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Wake up. Coffee. Flyer. Show. Repeat.

See as many shows as I can. Hang out with as many friends as I can. Nap as much as I can. Drink Irn Bru.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

Since the last time I went to the Fringe I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. So my usual places are off limits. But I love City Restaurant and Wings.

This year I’ll be looking for healthy places and vegetarian restaurants.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

The privilege of performing every day to people. I love it.

What is the hardest part about performing at the Fringe?

Remembering that the world keeps turning outside the fringe. It’s easy to get completely absorbed by it. Take stock, calm down and remember it’s FUN.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

This year I will be bringing Kiss The Hippo coffee and an Aero Press.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Don’t spend any.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Tinned peaches. A can opener. And a second can opener.

what’s the secret to successful flyering?

Whispering.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

@TwiceBriceBrice on everything.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

It’s really silly.
