Hello! Tell us about yourself?

Hello! I’m Rohan, I’m 26 years old and I’m a comedian, teacher, friend and lover from London.

Tell us all about your show!

It’s called Mad Dog. it’s a multi-media stand-up comedy show about identity, truth and also just being a silly guy! And also gaddafi. It’s a little bit about colonel Gadaffi. But mainly it’s just about being a damn silly guy!

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Too many to count! I’m hugely excited to see Hasan Al-Habib, Sam Williams, Sharon Wanjohi, Will Owen, Bella Hull, Bobby Prezinsky, Ayoade Bamgboye. And also the sleep demon that starts appearing at the foot of my bed around day 15. Excited to see how that guy’s doing.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I’ve done it a couple of times! People always say to pace yourself, but this is a lie. The best thing to do is go all out within the first week. You may start to feel what you think is ‘burn out’ but this is actually your body overdosing on good times. If you keep pushing, your body will get used to this amount of enjoyment, and you will gradually start accessing more and more parts of your brain. By the end I was using 98% of it at once, and could see 4 new colours.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Wake up, daily affirmations, 30 press-ups, clean my mind palace, breakfast (broth), practise my facial expressions for the day, 30 more press-ups, lunch (broth), 6 hour panic attack, quick bath (broth), do the show, 30 press ups, 5 hours of Joe Rogan, bed.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

Paradise Palms

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Throwing ninja stars at the walking silent disco

What is the hardest part about performing at the Fringe?

The pressure of constant praise and critical acclaim.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

I’ll bring some of my mum’s cooking up for the first few days. And some of my dad’s knitwear. And some of my uncle’s emotional issues.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Walk everywhere, eat at home, and don’t do a show.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Strepsils, 30 cigars, and a parent in the arts.

what’s the secret to successful flyering?

Saying please 10 times and threatening to cry if they don’t come.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

@sharmycomedy

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Ha Ha Ha
