Hello! Tell us about yourself?

Hello! I’m Kit, I live in Oxford with my wife and my whippet Bruno. I trained as an actor at ArtsEd and RADA and completed a term at Ecole Gaulier (all the training!) I’m coming to Edinburgh with my debut comedy hour.

Tell us all about your show!

Frenzy is a pretty wild hour. I use audio-visuals and mime to perform one-person physical comedy sketch.
Audiences are taken on a frenetic ride and meet a variety of fun characters. There are JLS backup dancers, Hipster Baristas and Endangered Birds.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

So many shows! Some that stand out are: Siblings, Luke Rollason, Ely Lyons, Crybabies, Patti Harrison, Josh Glanc, Rory Marshall.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

Yes, this is my third time performing (first doing a full comedy hour).

Try and enjoy it. Surround yourself with friends. Don’t get too sucked into it all. Things will definitely go
wrong, that’s to be expected, but you will look back at the chaos and laugh. Some of the most horrendous
situations make the best stories Don’t flyer all day as you will go mad!

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

I would say the routine varies day by day. It does usually always involve googling your own name, having a breakdown and drinking a Huel.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

Wings – off the royal mile which just does chicken wings. I came to the fringe when I was 20, just to watch
shows and me and my friend Will ate chicken wings from wings every day for 11 days.

The Original Mosque Kitchen & Café – brilliant affordable curry’s.
Ting Thai Caravan is also amazing. There is usually a queue though.
Nile Valley – best sandwiches
I do also genuinely drink Huel when I’m out and about. Maybe Huel is the best place to eat at the fringe?

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Just having a mad time – totally unique experiences that you will never have anywhere else. You create the
wildest most bizzare memories that you will remember for ever – that’s what life is all about ey?

What is the hardest part about performing at the Fringe?

The fringe can feel incredibly lonely despite being surrounded by so many people. There are literally thousands of other people trying to do exactly the same thing as you.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

My wife usually comes up two or three times to visit and she brings our dog. That is always special!

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Rain jacket, portable phone charger, decent backpack

what’s the secret to successful flyering?

Just be yourself and don’t freak anyone out. I was once flyering an elderly couple in George Square and
then another performer from a different show jumped out a bush in his pants, covered in red paint. He tried
to hand the couple a flyer. They looked scared and sad, then walked away.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

@kitloyd – Instagram

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Laughter don’t stop!
