Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025

The Travel Book – Tips For Edinburgh Fringe This Year

So let’s be realistic, it’s the year 2025, going to the Edinburgh Fringe this year will be pricey. Tourist tax, ticket prices on the rise, food, accommodation, the cost of living – it is a lot. So to kick of the Travel Book Edinburgh Fringe Month, I thought I would help you with this years fringe.

Beware of Oasis

Let’s get this out of the way first and be done with it. The first week of the Fringe may be mayhem in Edinburgh because apart from everything else that normally happens at this time of year, the Oasis reunion shows are also happening just up the road in Murrayfield. That means because it is such a huge event there will be thousands of fans in the area so it will be busier and also it could ne one of the many reasons hotels are pricey this year – as soon as the shows were announced I checked, the soared deliberately.

Ticket Prices

One thing I have noticed this year from all the interviews that I have formatted and scheduled for this site that it is really obvious how much prices for shows have jumped this year. I have never seen so many shows for around £17 and it just shows the sign of the times but I still find it very shocking. Maybe take risks on free shows however due to the pricing I would say turn up early as I feel these will be an incredible popular choice this year.

Food

Food can be seriously overwhelming at the Fringe. There is so much to chose from that you can end up walking around in circles frustrated by crowds, prices and everything else. Trust the process, food stalls are your friends, however, before lining up it can be beneficial to look at the portions they are giving out for the price you are paying. I have done this as you could be spending a lot for a little – so keep an eye what is coming out before you buy.
