10 Years of The Phoenix Remix

Celebrating 10 Years of The Phoenix Remix – Behind The Article – Forgotten Songs!

It is our birthday month so to celebrate I thought it would be fun to write a couple of articles to take you behind the scenes of the The Phoenix Remix. In this article I am going to talk about how the idea for the Taste of States article came about.

I have always had a fascination about music – I originally wanted to become a music journalist and have always written about this topic non stop since I was a teenager and had work published online and in publications such as Top Of The Pops Magazine.

One of the things that has always fascinated me is pop music – it is not my favourite genre but when I was growing up in the nineties and the noughties there was so many pop groups that were there one minute then disappeared the next. This is what actually inspired the article.

Initially, the article began as Forgotten Pop and I would write about a different artist each week. The more I wrote it like this the more I realised that whilst this was interesting there were so many songs that were just being left to disappear – that is when I changed the angle and the focus of the article.

Writing about Forgotten Songs opens the door even wider on the world of music – it allows me to talk about any genre and artists more then once to give them more exposure that is fun after all this time.

It is a great article to write as you end up learning so much about music and interesting tracks that you may of forgotten about even for a little but and that is why it is so exciting!
