Tell Us about:
Your latest improv show:
This year we are running the latest version of our musical at Brighton Fringe PLUS a brand new kids show: #AcaKids
Your favourite suggestion you have been given?
Michael Joslin Southend have us ‘the great sprout drought of 1993 – set on a sprout farm just before Christmas’ as a suggestion for one of our podcast episodes!
Your favourite venue to perform at:
Shoreditch balls! We’re there the second Friday of every month so it feels like home, and we love our regulars. That said performing at Espontanteo Festival this year in Portugal was pretty rad!
Improv hero:
I keep meeting new ones! This year – Shaun Kinley – I met him for the first time at REACT IMPRO in Stuttgart this March and he’s one of the best improvisers and best impro teachers I’ve ever met! SO skillful, SO supportive and just completely lives and IS the spirit of improv.
Dream venue to play at:
The Royal Albert Hall
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
As one of our newest members Libby put it ‘Fizzy’ with excitement, joy and anticipation!
The hardest improv suggestion to perform and why:
A musical set in the Men’s toilets – because most of our cast are womxn – but we made it work! All toilets should be clean, wheelchair accessible, and open to everyone if you ask us!
Essential items you always take with you to a show?
Water – 2 bottles, ideally sports tops, 1 either side of the stage.
Describe your fans in three words:
Joyful
Supportive
Enthusiastic
What we can look forward to from you this year:
In our main show we have more group scenes, more rap and more improvised dance than ever before! We also have some shiny new cast members who are FIRE!
In AcaKids we will be making it up WITH the children at the helm – so even WE don’t know what to expect!!!
Thank you again for all your support in reading and engaging with the website.
