Improv Corner – Make A Slogan!

The other day I was on the tube in London and saw this poster that is below. There is nothing particularly special about it but when I first saw this I thought it was promoting something like life insurance or even a holiday company – it was only when I decided to read the text on the poster I noticed that I was wrong and that it was for a medication called Alternaleaf.

From looking at this one simple poster, it gave me an idea for an improv game which I thought I would share as you can play it yourself in either rehearsal or even on stage!

You get a few people up on stage and they all freeze themselves into a pose – then the other players shout out slogans and things that they could be advertising. You could alternatively ask the audience what they think the players are advertising and then the players make up slogans for it. It is a silly little short form game, a sort of spin on Freeze tag but it could be a lot of fun.

It sort of reminds me of the quick fire round they used to have on Mock The Week where they would come up with short sayings to topics. It may be a game that allows the players to interact with the audience in a silly little way.
