Tell us about:
Your favourite lyric in this song:
This love can go the distance – it’s a powerful affirmation of the power of love
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
Molly Bawn – it’s my quirky urban remix of a classic folk song.
Your favourite song to play live:
Currently, I’m just loving playing Go The Distance – the acoustic version of can u feel it.
The song that was the longest to write and why?
Whilst I write quickly, many of my songs cycle around before they emerge in their full form.
Your most emotional track:
You Don’t Know What Love Is – the jazz standard (on my album Flame 2021) – it takes you right into the heart(break) of the Blues and was incredibly cathartic to perform and record.
Dream collaboration:
I’d love to sing with John Legend.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
It’s like taking off in a plane.
The hardest track to play live:
Anything I haven’t practiced enough – always best to avoid doing that! 🙂
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
I’m never without a notebook for scribbling ideas
Describe your fans in three words:
Loving, supportive, magical.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
This Woman’s Work – Kate Bush
What we can look forward to from you this year:
can u feel it will be followed by a release in the summer and a special event- but it’s under wraps so that’s all I can say right now!
