Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Tambourine

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Tambourine – Eve

Today we are looking at a single that you may remember part of it as it was catchy and gets stuck in your head. WE are going to look at the song in depth today.

Tambourine was a hip hop song that was released by musician Eve on the 17th April 2007. It was written by E. Jeffers, K. Dean and S. Garrett and produced by Swizz Beatz. The single came from the album Lip Lock.

Tambourine was the first charting single as the lead in over four years from Eve as she appeared as a feature on a lot of tracks. I would recommend reading her autobiography to find out more about this. The song may sound familiar as it samples the 1974 track Blow Your Whistle by The Soul Searchers.

The single did well in the charts and went into the top 20 in Belgium (18), Ireland (16), USA Hot Rap Songs (10) and US Hot R&B Songs (17). In the UK it went into the charts at 18 and the UK Hip Hop Charts at 5. It became certified silver in the UK selling over 200,000 copies.

It may sound familiar as it has also appeared in the television shows such as Gossip Girl, Girls and films such as Trainwreck, Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer and The Boss.
