The Travel Book – Venues Venture –O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London

I have been to many concerts, it is one of the things that makes me incredibly happy. I know it seems maybe a bit bizarre talking about gigs in this strand but I thought of something – gig venues are ‘technically’ related to travel. I have had to travel many times for concerts and sometimes it is hard to find out what the venues are actually like, from a visitor perspective. So, ever so often, I am going to talk about different venues and will tell you my personal experiences of them. Today we are going to talk about a venue that inspired it.

O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London

In London, smaller bands or independent Indie bands tend to play smaller venues such as Shepherd’s Bush. Now, don’t get me wrong, but acts do play the venues but they usually sell out very quickly.

I have been to O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire a couple of times – it is a smaller venue in London but I personally found a good location for music as it is an older building the sound is better. Each time I have been on the balcony both times and the view is good but be prepared the leg room is very small due to it being an older building.

Even though the venue is outdated when it comes to the experience it is very quaint because of the age. The age means you get good views.

I like this venue, I wouldn’t say it is my favourite in London but it is a nice place to see smaller bands as there isn’t much space on the stage for many effects on the stage.

It is easy to get to you as you can get three different tube lines, overground, bus to it which means there is a lot of access to it.
