Every Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we are looking at an autobiography by Jackass member Steve-O.
Professional Idiot (2012)
Stephen ‘Steve-O’ Glover
Synopsis
Stephen ‘Steve-O’ Glover was so desperate to become famous, he was prepared to die trying. From his early days videotaping crazy skateboard stunts to starring in the blockbuster Jackass franchise, there is little Steve-O would not do to get attention. Professional Idiot recounts Stephen ‘Steve-O’ Glover’s glory days, drug addiction and his path of recovery and redemption – all the while maintaining the bravado and humour for which he is famous. Hilarious, harrowing and inspiring all at once, Professional Idiot is sure to entertain all Jackass fans.

Positive Points
If you are a fan of Jackass then you may enjoy reading behind the scenes and how it started.
Negative Points
There are a lot of stories that put Steve-o in a bad light and a handful of them will make you angry.
Overall Review
I have given this a low mark for a number of reasons – the first is that there are parts of the book that I do not agree with, even though it is true accounts I did not like the parts where he would put fake stories in the press so that he became part of Lyndsey Lohan’s news. That is just an example, there are many like this and the mistreating of friends, family and everyone in between. It is true but it is hard to read and you can’t help but feel angry. I used to really like Jackass so if you are a fan it is interesting to read about it but a lot in between gets irritating.
Also, I would of given this a three stars but I am taking one off as in the audio book he reads one or two chapters then hands it over as he has to tour or something. That annoys me as if you didn’t want to read it then do not read a section then go away. It is nice to hear the audio of other people such as Johnny Knoxville but it still is being reduced by a star.
Rating : ** 2 Stars
