Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Life Got Cold

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Life Got Cold – Girls Aloud

We haven’t looked at Girls Aloud single in a while so I thought it would be fun to look at a track that I would say would not be the first single you would think of when you think of this band.

Life Got Cold was released by Girls Aloud on the 18th August 2003. The single was written by Miranda Cooper, Brian Higgins, Lisa Cowling and Nick Coler. The most interesting thing that I discovered was that even Noel Gallagher has a credit due to the similarities of the song Wonderwall. The track was produced by Brian Higgins and Xenomania and released under the record label Polydor.

Life Got Cold was the third single to be released off of the bands debut album Sounds Of The Underground which was released the same year in May. The song was released as an unplanned single as it had such a strong reaction from the fans that it sort of pushed it to be a single.

The track did really well in the charts – it went into the charts at number 3 in the UK and number 2 in Ireland.
