There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

Whenever anyone talks about Switzerland in a travel sense, it is always about the mountains and the nature but one thing that seems to be overlooked is the architecture – which today we are going to look at a photo that highlights part of this.

Something I really loved about Geneva was the styles of buildings that were around – they were really historic feeling throughout different parts of the city that it felt like you were walking through time at some parts.

I really adore this photograph because of all the flags that were present down the street. The one thing that is great about Switzerland is that they come across as incredibly patriotic and I think this photo highlights this.

The colours in the photo are quite muted apart from the flags and I think that is why it stands out so much.
