Every day this month we are taking a look at a variation of couples from different television shows. It is the month of ‘love’ so it in tradition we are looking at the world of relationships. There will be spoilers throughout so be warned!

Day 6 – Ben and Susan Harper, My Family

I have been watching My Family since I was a young child. I loved it – I think the main reason was Nick because he was just fantastic and he really made the show shine. Another duo that really make the show exciting and as great as it is are the parents Ben and Susan Harper.

It is not just about their relationship with each other it is also about their relationship with their family as well. Especially the children and the best episodes of this are in the early seasons when Nick is still around and Michael and Janey are a lot younger.

I love the fact that Ben always thinks he is right and 90% of the time he is not and Susan likes to play him at his own game to make a point. One of the best examples of this is when they go away to a hotel for their anniversary.

There are some great episodes – the one where they try and handle Nick are always fun – like when he tries to work for them both or ones where it is focussed on their relationship and meals or dances they go to and try and make it exciting their relationship.

Even after all these years, I still love Ben and Susan and they always make me laugh.
