The Travel Book – The Ship Inn, Elie and Earlsferry, Scotland

Today we are looking at a pub that I ended up coming across when I was looking for somewhere to have a cup of tea and a bite to eat when I was exploring the Fife coastline in the summer. It is in a wonderful location by the beach and it is a great place to head to if you get a chance.

The Ship Inn is located in Elie, about a ten minute walk from the bus stop if you are travelling by public transport. The pub is owned by a small team and they aim to keep everything as locally sourced and sustainable as much as possible. They are also an Inn which means that you can also rent out rooms to stay in as well.

They host a lot of different events including live music, cricket and much more – since it is right on the beach it has a lot of tie-in to events related to that as well.

The menu has a lot of choice of food on it including soups, beer battered haddock, burgers and shetland mussels to name a few. They have daily specials as well which means that you can always have something unique.

I really liked the Ship Inn, I was only there for a limited time but the food I had was delicious and the staff were really friendly.
