All this month we are celebrating acts that you need to look out for in 2025. Today it is the time to put the improv act Kerfuffle on the stage and find out all about what they have in store and the shows you can expect!
Hello tell us all about your improv troupe?
Hello! We are a London based improv team, serving delightful masses of FUN! We’ve performed all across London as well as Brighton and Camden Fringes. We’re produced by Playface who are a play and comedy company.
How did your troupe come about?
Kerfuffle started in August 2021 as a Hoopla House Team. We originally performed head to head improv in the style of TheatreSports and short form. The team has also evolved to long form shows too.
How was 2024 for you?
It was a fun year, we had Brighton Fringe which we created a new show for. It went down really well and the audience loved it. It was our first year being produced by Playface and they injected a lot of clowny energy into our shows.
How did you get into improv?
Viki: I got into improv by signing up for a beginners course. I first heard about it as i went to a night called “F*** Ups” which talked about people’s biggest f*** ups and how they overcame them. Improv was mentioned and I decided to give it a go. You can read more about it here
What was the top 3 highlights for you?
Brighton Fringe
HATS
Super fun team vibes and playful energy
What was the key lesson you learnt from last year?
Improv teams need a lot of organising, Whatsapp polls are amazing.
What are your plans improv wise for 2025?
Looking at developing a new show format so watch this space!
What other improv acts are you looking forward to seeing perform online or in person to this year?
Adlibretto are a musical group who create a lovely show about an audience member, Buffet have made a come back and they are great. Shoot From The Hip are always a high level funny show either watched online or in person.
What styles do you hope to see more of in improv this year?
More clown and play! We love having fun on stage together and that helps the show land so much better. Big fun intros, confidence and play!
What improv troupe is your ones to watch in 2025 and why?
Bias as I’m in this but Improv The Dead have some really cool shows. Think Zombie apocalypse narrative improv with some fun games intermixed in it.
Do you have any new years resolutions? If so what are they?
More bigger shows, maybe our own night. Who knows!
Are you on social media? If so how can people find out more about your troupe?
https://www.instagram.com/kerfuffleimprov/ and facebook
Three words why people should come and see you this year?
