It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. Today we have a look at the last ten best songs released this year.

21) Stellar Cast – The Lathums

In October the band The Lathums released the brand new single Stellar Cast which was inspired by an early gig of theirs. The song had a bold catchy track and was a follow up to the song No Direction. Their third album is set to be released soon.

22) Kool Aid – Bring Me The Horizon

At the beginning on the year Bring Me The Horizon released the heavy hitting song Kool-Aid which was one of the singles off of the seventh studio album Post Human: Nex Gen. It was the first single that the band released since the departure of keyboardist and songwriter, producer Jordan Fish. The song went to number 1 in the UK Rock and Metal charts.

23) I Can Do It With A Broken Heart – Taylor Swift

If it has been anyone’s year then it has to Be Taylor Swift – the whole of the world has gone Swift crazy as she has toured her Eras show all across the world. Locations such as the UK and Australia put on loads of different events and re-named places temporarily just to bring the spirit of Taylor to Town. One of the singles that she released this year was I can Do It With A Broken Heart where the music video takes you behind the scenes of her tour.

24) Alone – The Cure

This was a very exciting year for fans of The Cure as they released their first single in fifteen years and was an instant hit. It was the lead single from the album Songs Of A Lost World that was also released this year as well. The song was released on the record label of Polydor.

25) Apt – Rose and Bruno Mars

It is one of those songs that when you hear it you get the chorus stuck in your head. In October of 2024, Rose released this collaboration with Bruno Mars. The song was inpsired by a Korean Drinking game and the original game is called apateu. It went to number 1 in many countries including Costa Rica, Venezuela, United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Singapore and New Zealand to name a few.

26) Starburster – Fontaines DC

It has been a really successful year for Fontaines DC and one of the songs that they have been celebrated for is none other then Starburster. The track was released on the 17th April and was the lead single from the album Romance.

27) Zombieland – Jake Bugg

If you have been listening to radio stations such as Radio X then this track has been playing non stop all year and it is really catchy. In May 2024, Jake Bugg released the single Zombieland. The single comes from the album Modern Day Distractions. It has big bold guitars and has a catchy chorus.

28) A Bar Song (Tipsy) – Shaboozy

In April of this year, the musician Shaboosy released the song A Bar Song (Tipsy) it was from his third album called Where I’ve Been. Isn’t Where I’m Going. The song intertwined J-Kwons song Tipsy and ended up being a huge hit in this new country style. It tied with “Old Town Road” as the longest-running number-one song of all time on the US Billboard Hot 100 with 19 weeks at the top of the chart, the most for a song by a solo artist.

29) Birds Of A Feather – Billie Eilish

In July of this year Billie Eilish released the song Birds Of A Feather which was the second single to be released from the album Hit Me Hard and Soft. The song explores themes of deep love and a desire for lasting connection and was used for the trailer for new season of Heartstopper.

30) All My Love – Coldplay

If you have not seen this video yet then take ten minutes out of your life and watch it. I do not even like Coldplay but this song is lovely and a wonderful tribute to Dick Van Dyke. It is emotional and it is lovely to see all of his family in the video as well.
