All year I have decided to keep a diary of tracks that I am enjoying so that maybe you can gain new ideas of tracks to listen to or even try out. So I thought what a great way to end the year and highlight some of the tracks throughout 2023 that I have enjoyed. Here are some of my favourite tracks from April to June.

12/4/24 – Forget About Us, Perrie Edwards
I was waiting for Perrie to release solo music after Little Mix as she was the one I was most expecting it from. It too a long time to happen but it did and it was this year. It is a song that slowly grows on you. It takes a few listens for you to appreciate it. I would not say it is as catchy as her girl band songs but its a nice track.
17/4/24 – Espresso, Sabrina Carpenter
If there is one song that has gone viral this month (apart from Taylor) then it is Sabrina Carpenter. This song did the rounds on social media when it was performed at Coachella and then it has been a song that has been played everywhere. It is a song you don’t want to like but it gets stuck in your head.
26/4/24 – A Normal Life, Marianas Trench
It has been a long time since Marianas Trench released new music so it was really exciting to hear a new track on the Friday. It is a great song and feels incredibly cinematic and is the opening of the album and if this is what the album starts with I am excited to see what is set to come.
12/5/24 – Lightweight, De’Wayne
It was a really exciting surprise when I found that De-Wayne had released new music and the fun thing is that this track is incredibly addictive and really fun to listen to. It is really up tempo and toe tapping that after a few times of listening to it you will want to sing along.
18/5/24 – Just My Type, Palaye Royale
This song is very different to the other tracks that the band have had before and has a really uplifting drum beat to it that at first it is hard to believe that is actually a track by this band. It has a sort of summer vibe that make it a weird feel good as well.
24/5/24 – Bulletproof, Nate Smith featuring Avril Lavigne
When I first heard this song I had to double check that it was Avril Lavigne I was listening to as it is so different to her normal music. Country music is very much in fashion at the moment so I was not surprised that it was a genre that she decided to delve into.
1/6/24 – Houdini, Eminem
This single was released just at the end of May and I felt I had to include it in the June list because I love Eminem and this song is back to the way he was in the early noughties. It is a really catchy track and it will be intriguing to see what the album has in store.
22/6/24 – breakdown. YUNGBLUD
The return of Yungblud comes with a song with uplifting lyrics that are placed against this drum and bass sort of beat. It is a different sort of sound for the musician but it works incredibly well and make you want to tap along with the beat. There is a bit of rapping in it as well that is full of words to create hope.
22/6/24 – Barely Hanging On, Mest
This particular week was a great one for new music and this was a track that caught my ear because it was catchy and rocky. It is a really fun track and if you are a fan of bands like The Used you may enjoy this song as the lead singer is very similar to them.
