The festive period is here and there are so many shows that are available for audiences to go and watch! Over the next few weeks, we will be talking to lots of different shows and performers about what they have in store for this time of year! Today we speak to Acaprov all about their Christmas show called An Improvised Hallmark Christmas Musical about the show they have on the 13th December.

Helllo Acaprov! Will there be a bit of festivity in your show?

Yes the entire long form musical will be based on the Christmas Hallmark movies that come out every year.

What are your favourite things about the festive season and why?

Empathy, kindness, snow and spending time with friends and family. Also the Acaprov Christmas party rehearsal which is always Bananas!

This time of year the venues tend to be a bit busier as well – do you find that the audience changes at all?

Yes. It’s very common to get walk in drunk Christmas do groups, or no audience at all because they’re all out on a works do somewhere else!

What advice would you give for people performing around the festive season?

Wear layers – because no matter how cold it is outside, it’s always hot under the stage lights!

What is the best thing about a night at your show for the audience?

It’s THEIR show, they get tonnes of input during the shortform; and get to choose where the longform musical is set and what it’s called. They also get free karaoke afterwards!
