Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
I hope that it reaches the people who need to hear it, so they can remember that their stories have been heard too.
Your favourite lyric in this song:
“But this time I think it’s fate.” I love this because it’s that split moment that after so long of constantly being in denial and having hope for a person that realisation dawns on you that sometimes it’s better to let go than to hold on. It’s like Fate stepped in even though the truth was there all along.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
Down the Rabbit Hole
Your favourite song to play live:
I like to play Down the Rabbit Hole because I can really feel it and can get into the lyrics. It’s all-consuming. But I also love Under the Willow because it’s more fun and upbeat to sing, and I can get more involved with my audience.
The song that was the longest to write and why?
Religion. The lyrics came out really quickly, but the song as a whole is evolving and has really taken more time to come together in its full potential.
Your most emotional track:
Either Down the Rabbit Hole, or my up-and-coming tracks, Dear Friend and Religion. They’re all very deep songs. Religion in particular is really personal and tackles a topic I and so many people have greatly struggled with for a long time.
Dream collaboration:
Billie Eilish because I’ve been listening to her ever since I was in Primary School and I’ve really connected with her lyrics. She’s been a big inspiration for me, especially because of how vulnerable and raw she’s been with her music career, and how she and her brother revolutionized the music industry with both the style of music and Billie’s personality.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
I haven’t done a show…yet! But when I’ve performed in front of friends, I feel a nervous rush of adrenaline, which both helps me play well, but can cause me to make some mistakes.
The hardest track to play live:
Probably Religion because it’s a difficult song to sing and it’s very personal.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
If and when I go on tour, I’ll take my phone…gotta call someone in case I get kidnapped. And my diary so I can write about the tour and any new song ideas.
Describe your fans in three words:
Loving, Inspiring, Encouraging
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
Too many to say because there’s a lot I really admire! But maybe Everybody Supports Women by Sofia Isella, Ceilings by Lizzy McAlpine, and Wicked Game by Chris Isaak.
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
I have 4 new songs coming out soon, Down the Rabbit, Religion, Under the Willow, and Dear Friend. I might open for the artist, NoAnne early next year!
