The Travel Book – Tail End, Dundee, Scotland

When you come to Scotland, you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding a great fish and chip shop and I have spoken on here many times about fantastic little finds I have come across. Today’s discovery was actually a recommendation from a taxi driver of the area and I am glad we took his advice.

Tail End is located just near the central shopping area of Dundee, it is about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the train station and is reasonably easy to find. If you see a Next you are in the right area.

Tail End is an award winning seafood restaurant that is in Dundee and St Andrews. I have never been to the latter so we are going to focus on the Dundee one.

The reason why the restaurant was recommended because it is owned by G&A Spink Fish Merchants of Arbroath meaning they get fresh fish daily from a very local area.

The restaurant is very popular as there is a takeaway upstairs and a place to eat downstairs – also the prices are reasonable for both the size that you get.

I am really happy the pace was recommended to us as the food was so good. I have been to many fish and chip places in Scotland but this was one of my favourites.
