Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Poison Oak

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

We have just released our debut album, “These Suburban Dreams”. It was released in mid-May, it is first album over our five year lifespan.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

Not sure…. Hmm I would have to say Forgetting About You, since it was the last one we recorded for this album.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

Apocalypse, we tried to record it for our EP before this release. However, it didn’t turn out how we wanted it to. For the album we re-arranged things, changed up a few things then it all clicked into place.

Your most emotional track:

Probably Forgetting About You. It is the oldest song as well. As we wrote it about four years ago. We just never recorded it, however, we decided it would be a nice way to end the album.

The hardest track to play live:

Probably Apocalypse, it has a lot of different things going on. I feel like we have mastered it now. But at times, due to the different sections, we would have timing issues etc.

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

We recorded some new songs with a new a producer that we feel has really captured our sound more definitively. We’re really excited about releases these new singles around August/September this year. We’ve put a lot more work into them then any other recording, and hoping that pays off.
