The solo debut show by Rosalie Minnitt has been incredibly successful since it first appeared on stage and has some fantastic runs both in 2023 and 2024. We initially spoke to Rosalie in 2023 when the show was being taken to Brighton Fringe. Today we are thrilled to be speaking to her again ahead of the last ever run of the show at Soho Theatre this month between the 11th-14th September.
Clementine is an Austen parody that focusses on girlhood, romance and Lady Clementine has until her 27th birthday to find The One. When her latest love interest goes missing, she embarks on a quest to solve the mystery. Today we speak to Rosalie to find out all about it.
Hello! What can you tell us about your show in London this week?
This is the last run! I started working on this show in 2022 and now I’m finally laying Miss Clementine to rest. I’ll be heading to Soho Theatre for four final shows and then she’ll be put back into her box – for good!
How did the show come about?
I originally got the idea for the character in lockdown and have been developing it ever since. I didn’t know much about the comedy world when I first started doing the show so a lot of it has been trial and error – especially when it’s come to self-producing. I just wanted to make something I would want to watch, something that was really stupid and joyful.
What is the most challenging thing about doing the show?
I think doing solo work is so rewarding but it can also be a bit lonely. The wins and the losses aren’t shared as they would be in an ensemble piece so I’d love to work in a bigger team if I did another project. It’s hard sometimes to know how to fix something if it isn’t working too because it’s just me.
What have been some of the best highlights since doing the show?
My fringe run last year (2023) was one of the best months of my life. I just had so much fun doing the show and it felt like such a privilege to be able to perform every day. People really connected with the show and I got so many really wonderful, touching messages. One girl came to the show four times and she wrote to me: ‘if someone asked me why I love women and love being a woman, I’d show them this show’.”
What is the best reaction you have had from an audience member?
I’ve had quite a few audience members who were struggling with something that day come up to me after the show to just say, “Thank you. I really needed that.” If I can provide an hour of escapism, a chance for audiences to put aside any worries or troubles and just enjoy a silly hour, that’s a job well done.
If people want to follow you on social media where can they find you?

Finally in three words why should people come to your show?
LAST CHANCE EVER.
