Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
Oh Sunshine is an anthemic alt rock song sort of in the vein of cage the elephant and yeah yeah yeahs. It explores a dynamic between two people who are using each other for different reasons.
Your favourite lyric in this song:
“Now I really wish that we could drop the act / she said it all when she was drunk so she could take it back”
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
As far as the EP goes I think Verona is a beautiful change of pace for us.
Your favourite song to play live:
Speaking Off The Record is my favorite. It feels almost like a magic trick turning my darkest moments into a catharsis and optimistic mantra.
The song that was the longest to write and why?
It took a long time to nail down the chorus for “Fever Pitch” just ‘cause it felt like a hit and I wanted to knock it out of the park.
Your most emotional track:
I wrote “This could be it for me” with tears running down my face.
Dream collaboration:
I think collaborating with either st. Vincent or karen O would make my heart explode.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Stomach and breathing issues then euphoria
The hardest track to play live:
Dancing with The Moonlight is a lot of yelling and wild breath work.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Floss.
Describe your fans in three words:
Strange kind and open
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
Smoke Signals by Phoebe Bridgers sounds like it could almost be my style and humor just kind of done better and bolder.
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
Touring the UK baby.
