REVIEW – Improv At The Fringe – Holy Sh*t Improv

We sent our reviewer Damian to watch Holy Sh*t Improv

This team is doing some world-class improv. The team clearly know each other and work together well. As a result, it’s consistently funny – the audience is never left hanging through moments of awkward disconnect.

The show is in two halves: for one they took an audience prompt, played with it for a bit, then went into 25 mins of montage-style scenes based on themes from that conversation. Then in the second half, it was a few chats with the audience that served to inspire a seamless stream of scenes.

Their ability to remember little details from the start of the show and call-back near the end was really impressive: many other improvisers will forget a character’s name within a scene!

Some of the themes were to my mind adult – sex and murder came up several times (I think that’s different from the swearing content warning) – but if that doesn’t bother you then you must go and see these impro prodigies.
