Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024

REVIEW –Children Show’s At The Fringe – Circus – The Show

When you enter the Circus at the Underbelly the show has already started, the clown is there performing silly little skits for you as you sit down. A great way to start the show and to set up what is to come.

This is not your average circus show, in fact I would say it is more of a cabaret wrapped up into the theme of a Circus. The world Circus can put people off going to see an act but I would say ignore that panic and see this show as it is not what you expect. It is not hard to see why this show has received so many five stars in the past and I am about to join that club.

This show is pure entertainment and if you have children this is going to be a show they love as throughout they are really responding to what is happening.Instead of a Circus I would say that this show so sort of similar to Britain’s Got Talent. It is showcasing some amazing talented acts such as a gymnast, a magician and a juggler.

Applause needs to be given to the clown. Unlike other circus shows this is not an ‘act’ so to speak but a character that pushes the show on with the ringleader. The clown displays some fantastic clowning techniques before the show begins and then throughout acts as a sort of mascot for the audience making sure they constantly participate and interact with the show.

One of the clever techniques this show does is welcomes cameras (without flash obviously) as they are switched on to the power of social media and what it can do for a show. Very clever and also allows kids to engage even more as I witnessed some trying to film everything as they were so mesmerized.

If you have children go and see this show, even if you are an adult I am sure you will enjoy the talented acts.
