How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the Camden fringe?

Comedy 1900 describes the era we’re travelling back to.

Tell us a little bit about your style of show?

Comedy 1900 uses a blend of words and song to uncover themes and characters that made our ancestors laugh. Many of the songs we’re featuring are classics from the golden era of Music Hall and they’re still well known today. We hope that audiences will join in with the choruses!

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

The Mayor and His Daughter sounds intriguing and I Can Be Your Guru’s Comedy & Tarot Show looks like it will be great fun.

What advice would you give to others who want to perform at Camden Fringe next year?

Go for it! The more choice, the better!

What is the best thing about performing at the Camden fringe?

We’re very grateful for the marketing help we’ve received. Successfully promoting a show is definitely more difficult than writing it.

London can be an expensive place to perform in – what key advice would you give to performers that is a sort of life hack?

Don’t get too hung up on the financials. The most important thing is to enjoy what you’re doing.

What are your three favourite things about Camden?

The history, the diversity, and the memories.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

Suggs. I reckon he’s a Music Hall fan and he might persuaded to do a guest spot!

The iconic image of the Camden Fringe is the Pigeon – if you could call this years pigeon a name to represent its style what would it be and why?

Burlington Bertie. He looks pretty dapper.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

MyComedy1900 on Twitter/X, Instagram and Facebook.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

The songs we’re performing are joyful and we all need a bit of that at the moment. It’s also a good opportunity to have a good old-fashioned singalong.
