REVIEW – Funny At The Fringe – Alex Prescot: I’ve Got A Song About That

It is really difficult to find anything in the morning of Edinburgh Fringe as a lot of things do not start until lunch time. However if you happen to find yourself at the festival early then I recommend this show.

Full of music and the comedy wits of Alex, this is a show that is a lot of fun, high energy and  audience participation. The whole concept of the show is based around the fact that Alex has a song for everyone – even the audience!

It is a show that is highly entertaining and full of lots of mini stories tied up in a song.

A few things to point out about this show – the venue is tiny (and very hot) so make sure you book a ticket in advance as this show sold out and had people who were just arriving hoping to get in turned away. It is very popular and it is very easy to see why.

The only thing I found a bit bizarre, is that a show that is not an hour has an “opening / support act” which is not advertised. Whilst the opening Anna was very talented, had some great songs I felt it was a bit weird to do this. Yes, it promoted talented people (it changes everyday) and gives them a ten minute spot in such a short show I felt it was a shame that Alex didn’t have the whole show to himself.

A great show and something that you should definitely make time to see!
